  • we did not harass MaCoPi or forced him to create a page. i, for one, always worded my comments very respectfully. MaCoPi was the one who voluntered to create a chart, the we, the site visitors extremely loved in return. and i mean extremely loved. you can refer to the thread provided by Coarze. TwilightChild and MaCoPi said so themselves that the original chart would be a great wiki page.

    this chart had:

    1. all elemental combinations from fire to space element, from 1-element dragons to 4-element dragons.

    2. whole body images of dragons (instead of head shots) to see the whole designs of the dragons. site visitors aren't against using head shots in general, but for the specific concerned chart, people loved the whole body images because they're more interesting to look at (than just heads). this was MaCoPi's original idea too.

    3. the breedable dragons and non-breedable dragons were all present.

    4. all elemental combos with dragons and all elemental combos without dragons are all listed in ordinal order from 1-element dragons to 4-element ones.

it was a comprehensive chart, well-loved by us all. it was already finished. it didn't need any fixing or changing. it was perfect. everyone agreed. including the wiki editors.

but when it was uploaded, it was changed, trimmed, the visual images changed. of course people expressed their questions: where was the original chart that everyone loved?

and then some time after, the chart was taken down completely and site visitors were told that the chart will never see the light of day.

that's when the whole thing started.

    • i agree with Quainty all the way.

and what TwilightChild says about site visitors harassing MaCoPi is just not right.

if i may point it out, TwilightChild:

you and macopi deliberately changed an uploaded, finished, perfect chart that everyone liked in the thread--and yes, you and macopi said so in the thread that the original chart would make a great addition to the wiki.

you changed it. you trimmd it. you separated the breedables from the non-breedables. you' separated the elemental combos with dragons from the elemental combos without dragons. you' meddled (like you always love doing). you' changed the original chart with body images of dragons into head shots. you' uploaded the chart in the main wiki and then removed it to (once again) mess around with site visitors and anger them. you' didn't listen when people were requesting and pleading for the already-finished original chart to be brought back that WE ALL (including you) said was a great chart. you' remained deaf from the pouring valid requests of people to bring it back. you said site visitors should upload charts they wanted. take note: the chart was already created and finished by MaCoPi and was uploaded. why do you have to persecute visitors and tell them to create a chart again that was already finished and uploaded? why fix something that wasn't broken to begin with? and what's worse, you took the whole chart down to crush visitors more and display your power over us all and "scare" us to be banned. i can never respect that.

if anything, you're the one harassing site visitors and causing them stress just like in the other feud involving you (again). if the original, already-finished chart that you liked, MaCoPi liked, we liked... then this was over. but no, you had to change it all.

and it's very obvious how you don't want anyone to reply to your message for ElektronX (down below) because you want to skew the true nature of issue. i do not have anything to hide. site visitors don't have anything to hide.

      he who excuses, accuses himself.

      ---------------

ElektronX, we don't want to bother you, but i think site visitors needed a respectable third party to somehow preside over. the issue is a "site visitors vs admin" kind of situation. and it's not a fair game for us site visitors because admins have the final grip. and if an admin becomes the despot and won't represent the collective ideals and good intent of the wiki that we all love, then who do we turn to? in that regard, we need a third party. and that's just fair.

    • a few little comments on Quainty's post

      2. whole body images of dragons (instead of head shots) to see the whole designs of the dragons. site visitors aren't against using head shots in general, but for the specific concerned chart, people loved the whole body images because they're more interesting to look at (than just heads). this was MaCoPi's original idea too.

"this was MaCoPi's original idea too" is not entirely true. I added the images for everyone to see what was possible, for me they were just placeholders.

it was a comprehensive chart, well-loved by us all. it was already finished. it didn't need any fixing or changing. it was perfect. everyone agreed. including the wiki editors.

"it was perfect. everyone agreed." I did not agree that it was perfect. I might have said it was a good addition to the site (purely the chart, not the whole body images). If I would have thought it was perfect I would have stopped tweaking. I had just begun tweaking and adding thing when TwilightChild oppered a location. I then created that page and continued tweaking the chart.

and then some time after, the chart was taken down completely and site visitors were told that the chart will never see the light of day.

"site visitors were told that the chart will never see the light of day" If I recall correctly a said something like 'it will be just the same if I ever do decide to put it up again'.

that's when the whole thing started.

You're so wrong about that. The thing started way before I removed the chart. I removed the chart because of the thing.

Oh, and the perfect chart was already up for several hours, so there was totally no need to bring everything up again...

It was a "site visitors vs. site visitor" situation. TwilightChild had no input into it at all.

    • I've been a little curious who these "wiki editors" are.

      • There are wiki Contributors, which includes everyone that has ever visited this wiki, whether they bothered to contribute or not. They can add or edit any page on the wiki that is not protected for some reason. MaCoPi, Quainty, and ScoreP are all in this group.
      • There are wiki Bureaucrats, (like me), who can make Admins, Rollback users, and Chat Moderators.
      • There are wiki Admins, (also like me), who are responsible for seeing that all contributions by wiki contributors are in accordance with the Wiki Rules & Policies. They have a few special powers that Contributors do not have, most commonly used among these are the ability to ban users for breaking the rules, and edit protected pages.
      • There are wiki Rollback users, who can undo the latest change on a page with 1 click vice 3, we don't have any.
      • There are Chat Moderators, who have special powers in the chat room. We don't have any of these either.

Did someone create another class of wiki user?  Did MaCoPi get a promotion?  Does he have special "Editor" powers now?  Does this make ScoreP, and others, third class wiki citizens?  Do they have to raise their hand and ask permission from MaCoPi to edit or post?  The mind boggles at the ramifications....

      And for Quainty:

we did not harass MaCoPi or forced him to create a page

I would call a couple hundred posts and a whiny message to ElektronX because he wouldn't do what you wanted: harassment. Maybe it's different where you live. You did say "we did not" so you grouped yourself in with everyone else.  Hell, I feel harassed, and all I did was say I wasn't forcing someone to do something they didn't want to do, to a page I didn't think we needed, and which I still don't care about.

I know ScoreP can't reply to this, and I would advise Quainty, and everyone else, not to either.  Call me a liar at your own peril.  I have tried to be calm for all of this, even the false accusations that I was somehow involved.  I will not listen to any more.  You all insisted on dragging me into this, I will insist on ending it. period.

  • Ex,

I know you were messaged about the recent table problem, but I really wish you wouldn't step in on something like that unless and until you have at least combed all the facts and asked a few questions.

What you did was basically FORCE MaCoPi to create/modify a table he DIDN'T WANT TO CHANGE, because some users whined loud enough.  You have now set the precedent that anyone can be made to edit pages and make changes whether they want to or not.  You allowed a few users to harass MaCoPi into changing a page.

You created this Wiki, everyone can edit and create pages as they see fit, and no one should be FORCED to make an edit they disagree with.  Do you know what happens on other wikis with people that spam that much crap about someone else's posts?  They get banned.  How do you think wikipedia would have reacted to that much bitching about a table someone put up?  Believe me, it would have been over quickly, because either the table would have been deleted for being controversial, or all of those bitching would have been asked to leave for a while, forcefully.

I know you don't play anymore, or at least you said so a few months ago, and don't take an active interest in the wiki much.  You left others in charge, Myself and Nbdyman.  Allow us to do so.

And to all the others that are reading this and feel the need to comment, don't bother.  I will IMMEDIATELY delete any comment on this thread that is not from ElektronX, Nbdyman, or one of the other admins.  Even better, I'm closing this thread.  EX or one of the other admins can open it again to comment if they want.

    • Hey TC,

I was going to ignore the initial complaint entirely, but seeing how things were turning out, it didn't sit well with me.

I had noted that you and MaCoPi didn't want to edit the page at the time. It was never my intention to force anyone to edit anything. That is why I was going to take a look and offered to edit the page myself where needed, as it was a public page that seemed to be missing information. I had stated what my initial plan of action was and use the tabber function for the page. I apologize if my statement or actions sounded insisting or demanding.

Please do not get me wrong. I do not condone the behavior of verbal harassment. I do feel that many of the posts lacked a great amount of respect and civility for each others ideals and opinions and that many presumptions had already been made prior to the problem.

You are right. Anyone is able to edit or create pages on the wiki at their own will as long as it stays appropriate according to the policies. It is all public property that isn't owned by anyone and I agree that no one should be forced to edit anything they do not want to. Nothing on a wiki is permanent as anything can be infinitely modified.

You are right that I no longer play the game anymore nor have a huge interest in participating on the wiki. I'd rather not participate in such discussions unless if I see a possible solution which would lead to minimal consequences for all users.

    • Thank you Ex.

I'm sorry you got dragged into this.  I was a little upset when I originally wrote it and could probably have worded it better, I'm glad you took it as I intended, and not as it sounds now that I read it back to myself.  You are always welcome here, and you know it.

Those of us that were around when you were active will always remember and be thankful that you started this wiki, and will try to keep it as you would have wanted it.  Good luck in whatever you do!

  • Concerned wiki editors: MaCoPi and TwilightChild

Concerned wiki visitors: old and new ones

A chart that uses body images of dragons was originally created. It was well-liked by all people in the concerned thread. One great idea led to another. One purpose at the beginning, then discussion evolved and the chart had more purposes:

    1. a chart that shows all elemental combinations with no dragons ordinally listed along with the elemental combinations with dragons;

    2. a chart that shows all possible elemental combos from 1 element to 4 elements in ordinal order from the element of fire to space;

    3. a chart that uses body images (not just head shots) of dragons to visually compare designs of dragons in one comprehensive visual chart;

    4. a chart that uses body images (not just head shots) of dragons that shows which dragons share the same elements;

    5. a chart that uses body images (not just head shots) of dragons to see the elemental relations of dragons and their design relations (e.g. the Opal Dragon is the Earth cousin of the Fireworks Dragon; the Fireworks Dragon is the Fire version of the Opal Dragon)

    4. a chart that shows dragon-occupied and non-occupied elemental combos next to each other in ordinal combinations of elements (not separated). all other charts are have separative nature. this chart unifies.

--- all rolled in one chart.

Everyone love the chart. An admin agreed. Then not agreed. Then agreed again. So in the end, everyone agreed (admins and non-admins) it would make a good additional wiki page.

And so page was officially made. But the chart uploaded suddenly showed head shots of dragons instead of the body image of dragons. body images were more preferred by the many for the reasons mentioned above.

a wiki editor and one specific admin suddenly decided to oppose the well-intended idea by very enthusiastic growing community.

many pleaded for the body shots (instead of head shots) be used as it was originally liked. site visitors' valid and ideas with good intent are not listened to once more. but wiki editor and concerned admin (who was also part of a similar online feud about some charts) won't listen and feel that it's ok to cause this much commotion and stress to site visitors.

wiki editor and concerned admin feels they are being enslaved if they follow the sensible ideas of the wiki community.

a site visitor suggested to have the concerned chart show two options: one that uses body images of dragons, and the other with head shots.

again, lots of people agreed as it will bridge the gap of the many site visitors who want to see body images and the very few people who prefer head shots.

but just like in a similar thread, wiki editor and admin won't even consider the unifying idea to finally end the discussion peacefully with both parties happy.

    here are the threads concerned:

I do love the fact that Coarze decided that both parties would be happy if what he wanted done was done.  That's very generous of him.  I'm sure MaCoP is dancing now!

  • Hi, ElektronX, i thought you should know this.

Site visitors are asked what they think about the design and content of the template, and then their ideas are messed with by an admin. an admin who admits he actually likes messing aroung with site visitors (he said it in one of his comments). this is just wrong.

    • Hey TC,

Well, it's about time SQ released those Space dragons, huh? Now all we have to wait for is the Time dragons, and who knows how long that's going to take! I've been lurking in the shadows here and there, and saw that they were released almost a week ago. The Space Dragon itself looks really cool. Everything's looking good here as always ;)

Sorry that there isn't much that I can do for the wiki now since I don't play the game anymore. I can always help with cleaning up dragon pics or create custom images of the sort, but it looks like there are already a few people helping out in that area already ;)

I've been busy, but am doing well. School has been slowly eating away at my free time, but all is good here :)

    • Nah, these hacks don't actually work, they're just a way for people to get paid by forcing you to do surveys and give out your email so you can unlock a key to get the alleged hack to work. Currently the account info is all backed up server side so even if you could change your currency values (which you can) it just reverts after the next server sync.

Unfortunately the harder it is to cheat or the greater the rewards for doing so the more often you'll see these illegitimate tools that prey on the uninformed and gullible.

I believe you are in a different time zone that I am (EDT).  For some reason I got the impression you live in Cali or somewhere out west.

If so, could you verify that the countdown timer on the Dragon Tournament page shows the correct time left in tournament from where you are?

I believe I set it universally, but I have no way of verifying it from another time zone.

    Thanks!
